Sizzling Summer Fun

Summer in Klamath brings bright colored flora, warm weather, chirping birds, plenty of sunshine, and events galore – most being outdoors enjoying all the aforementioned. The month of June kicks off most events and towards the end it kicks into high speed. June 23- 26th has a variety of events in store for any visitor to stay occupied for the whole weekend. Here’s the inside scoop on all the events so that you can make the most out of enjoying Klamath.

Kicking of this sizzling weekend of fun starting on Thursday is the Kruise of Klamath. The Kruise of Klamath is a four-day celebration of classic cars with a long history in Klamath Falls.  An annual event that attracts over 400 cars from a four-state region, this is an event for serious gear head as well those looking for a fun family outing!

Thursday June 23

Sneak Peek at Sentry Eagle

From noon to 3pm Kruise of Klamath participants will gather in the Airport Terminal parking lot for the first event of the weekend.  Grab lunch at the Upper Deck Restaurant, check out the classics and watch our local ANG F-15s take off for their afternoon training flights.  The ANG will be gearing up for their public open house on Saturday and you’re likely to see many of the aerial acts arrive on Thursday.

Thursday Meet & Greet at The Growler Guys

It’s Thirsty Thursday and The Growler Guys will be hosting Kruise vehicles from 4pm to 7pm.  The Growler Guys are known for serving amazing craft beers in a tap house setting plus providing unique to go options and Klamath Falls is proud to be their newest location in Oregon.  A chance to see classic vehicles on display and grab a cold one and a bite to eat!

Friday June 24

Kruise of Klamath Kick-Off Party

This is the perfect way to start Kruise weekend – chilling in beautiful Moore Park, listening to DJ Strohmeyer spin tunes and checking out too many classics vehicles to count.  Make it a date night and purchase tickets for the picnic dinner of pulled beef or pork sandwiches by Melissa’s Country Kitchen.  This event runs from 5pm to 8pm and is open to the public at no charge with the exception of the picnic dinner which requires advance purchase.

Saturday June 25

Sentry Eagle Open House

The 173rd Fighter Wing will host a Sentry Eagle Open House on Saturday, June 25. Sentry Eagle is an opportunity for Kingsley Field to showcase their mission of providing air superiority as the premiere F-15C training base for the United States Air Force, as well as say thank you to our airmen and supportive community. During the Open House, Kingsley Field gates will be open to the community, providing a behind the scenes look at what the airmen accomplish every day at the 173rd Fighter Wing. There will be multiple aerial demonstrations, static display aircraft, flightline operations viewing opportunities, recruiting events, and more. Admission is free. Show ‘n Shine on Main Street

This event lasts all day long and it’s the perfect opportunity to see Kruise vehicles up close and talk with their owners.  Vehicles will stretch from 3rd to 11th on Main with vendors and music creating a street fair vibe suitable for all ages.

Saturday Evening Downtown Cruise

Hard to say who has the best time at this event, the owners of the classic vehicles getting to showcase their ride as they cruise downtown or the spectators who get to see them in action!  This is your opportunity to hear and see these classics as they come alive and relive their glory years.  The downtown cruise immediately follows the show ‘n shine and with a route that includes Main and Klamath between 3rd and 11th there is plenty of viewing room for everyone.  To learn more, visit kruiseofklamath.org.

Pat Green Concert at Klamath County Fairgrounds

Three-time Grammy nominee, Pat Green has become a cultural force across the country that has sold out venues from Nokia Theater in Time Square and House of Blues Los Angeles to the Houston Astrodome in Texas, and soon to be the Klamath County Fairgrounds! Sunday June 26

Poker Run

As things start to wind down for the weekend this is the one event where you and your car can participate along with all the classics.  Join us at our final event as we make stops around town at assisted living facilities to bring some cheer to those that might not have had the opportunity to get out to any of our events.  At the end you’ll have the opportunity to draw a poker hand and maybe go home a winner!
